Sound Unbound 2017

In April, we had the honour of taking part in the Barbican’s Sound Unbound festival – a weekend where every corner of the Barbican Centre resonated with music, aiming to bring classical music to everyone.

We were one of the guests of this fantastic, multi-genre musical banquet offering new ways of presenting and listening to classical music. Due to the orchestra’s energy, the unusual format of “guerrilla” performances and its aim to bring classical music to everyone – anywhere, we were chosen by Sarah Willis, French Horn with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and radio & TV presenter extraordinaire, for a feature on her TV programme.

Sarah interviewed SOL member Isabel Stewart-Kasimba who proudly stated SOL’s motto: taking music wherever we can – for free – to people who might not be able to access it, including places like refugees centres, prisons and care homes.
