Music & Migration: 13-16 April 2017
The Street Orchestra of London is touring London, Croydon and Brighton during the Easter bank holiday in April 2017:
Thursday 13 April: Brighton
Friday 14 April: Croydon
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 April: central London
The theme for the tour is Music & Migration: all the works we’ll perform have been written by refugee and migrant composers – from Handel to Kurt Weill and Bartók to The Fugees – including a UK premiere by Aftab Darvishi, an Iranian composer.
We are excited to welcome Jean Paul Samputu, a Rawandan refugee and one of the world’s most prominent African artists, as our vocal soloist.
